I was asked to travel to Barcelona last year during October to visit the Red Bull Music Academy (RBMA) . The Academy is an annual event that selects 22 fortunate attendees from hundreds of applicants to participate in a 2 week study amongst beautiful and plentiful surroundings. Working alongside some of the music industries most highly regarded individuals the students also enjoy state of the art sound rooms, recording equipment as well as the run of some of the cities best clubs as guest Djs and performers for the fortnight. During my visit I caught a 3 hour lecture from Sly and Robbie including beautifully slick translations from original recordings like Pull Up To The Bumper that developed into an acoustic jam between the two heavyweights of Dub. There were many more moments akin I will prompt you to read more here. truly Impressive.
